New Park wedding photography with the amazing Laura & Rhys, in the deepest depths of the stunning New Forest. In the grounds of New Park Farm, surrounded by the beautiful woodlands of the New Forest, 3 days before they flew to Dubai to begin their new live abroad, Laura & Rhys celebrated their wedding with a perfect cream tea reception surrounded by their closest friends and family. Such a stunning and personal day, which reminded me so much of my own wedding day, huge congratulations to you both and hope you are have and incredible new life together in the emirates . . .
Destination wedding photography at the stunning Lake Garda, Italy with the lovely Nat & Nik.
Earlier this summer I had the incredible opportunity to travel across the continent to Italy, to shoot a wedding in the beautiful town of Malcesine on the banks of Lake Garda. It was such a brilliant adventure and what made it even better was that my beautiful wife Lou was able to come on this adventure with me (she even picked up a camera and got stuck in during the ceremony, fearlessly trekking up the castle tower to grab a unique vantage point).
The wedding ceremony itself was held within the walls of the stunning lake side castle in the centre of Malcesine. Surrounded by its beautifully ancient fortified walls this was a simply incredible venue and one I felt honoured to shoot. After the ceremony the the wedding party made its way through the windy cobbled street of Malcesine, as the couple hoped onto the local Tuc Tuc for a short trip to the waters edge restaurant were the reception was to be held.
After the food had been eaten, the wine had been drunk and the stunning sun had set across this epic day, I walked back to my apartment along the edge of the lake honoured that I had been able to be apart of it. . . .
Hello to 2014 and welcome to the first blog post of the new year.
This year is looking like its going to be an incredible life adventure, but before 2014 gets in to full flow a quick look back at the last amazing adventure of 2013.
Before christmas I had the incredible opportunity to be invited along by Antony Turner (Antony Turner Photography) to second shoot a huge 3 day wedding in Goa, India with him. This wedding was an amazing event which I will hopefully be able to share with everyone soon, but in the mean while I thought I would share a few of the travel photographs I shot while we were out on our adventure in Goa. We managed to visit Baradi Church, Cabo De Rama, Agonda Beach, Palolem Beach, Shanta Durga Temple, Mangueshi Temple, Old Goa, Panjim and the one of a kind abandoned Hotel (Hotel Seema) which we found in Agonda. Goa was such an amazing place with so much vibrancy and colour I didn’t know what to shoot first, from the temples to the markets and the churches to the epic beaches, it was all jaw dropping.
This was such an amazing experience and also the perfect chance to test out my new Fuji x100s camera (which I took out on most of our adventures, except the abandoned hotel), which for the record was a beauty to shoot with and being more than half the size and weight of my 5DmrkIII it was the perfect for street photography. The only thing I would add, as a bit of a note to self, is to recharge the batteries before you go anywhere and don’t trust the battery read out on the screen! half full is not half full!
If you are interested in seeing Atony’s shots then he has also added the adventure onto his blog
